UP Drops Game Vs. UE
The UP Fighting Maroons failed to avenge their heartbreaking lost against UE from round 1, as the Red Warriors won, 81-72 today.
The Maroons drop to 3-9, tying Adamson for slot number 6.
UP still has Ateneo and Adamson to tackle. A lot of people are saying a repeat of the upset will be very hard to come by, especially that the Blue Eagles have regrouped into a better force thanks to that first round loss. These, however, remains yet to be seen when they square off.
The contest against Adamson, if indeed the assumptions for Ateneo will come true, will be the last shot of UP at breaking last year’s 3-11 record. But even that might not be good enough to salvage the team from slot number 7, or even scarily possible, slot 8. If UP drops its last two games, and NU somehow wins over La Salle and UE, UP drops to the ceiling.
In short, UP has to win in order to secure its spot somewhere other than the last place.
