Relief Reports from ARROW
The Abante Rescue and Relief Operations @ Work (ARROW), together with the Bible Believers’ League for Morality and Democracy are now on its third week of relief operations in the areas that have been devastated by typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng.
Last Monday, we went to Cainta, Pasig and Marikina to distribute more than 1,000 bags of groceries, as well as sleeping mats, mattresses, clothing items, clean drinking water, and other needed items to more than 350 families among our brethren who were victims of the two recent calamities that happened to the country. We were escorted by a 6X6 truck and 15 members of the Philippine Army.
No less than our Senior Pastor, Cong. Benny Abante Jr., was with us for the relief ops. He himself, waded on flood waters in Pasig just to give away the packed goods for the families of our churches in those areas. As of this writing, there are still some 20 families displaced, temporarily staying in the evacuation areas. While others have lost hope of ever coming back to their homes, which are still submerged in flood waters.
On Friday, the team will be heading to Tarlac, Nueva Ecija and Pangasinan to give out more goods and supplies for the more than 300 families of our churches there.
We would like to thank those who have donated to our operations since two weeks ago. Some are still coming in as of this moment, and the repacking of all these goods are just non-stop.
This, indeed, is the finest hour of the united Filipino spirit in responding to the call of duty and solidarity.
